Market Week
DANDENONG Market will join Markets of Melbourne’s fourth annual Market Week, themed Celebrating Our Global Community.
There will be master classes and cooking demonstrations in The Kitchen, a spruiking competition at 11am on Saturday 13 September, and a Full Moon Festival from 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday 14 September.

A poultry day out
POULTRY lovers are invited to a workshop organised by the Dandenong Poultry and Kennel Society. Guest speakers will include a veterinarian talking about disease prevention and a representative from feed company Barastoc.
There will be displays of pens, shedding, drinkers, feeders and medication.

Orchids on display
THE Dandenong and District Orchid Club will hold its annual show at the end of September.
On display will be hundreds of orchids nurtured by growers throughout Greater Dandenong. There will also be plants and seedlings for sale.

The Fairytale Cookbook
THIS improvised stage show is created for kids – and by kids.
The audience helps cast the actors, choose the characters for the tales and guide the hero through the adventure they create.

African gospel
THE Charambas and Ephraim African Gospel Concert will showcase three groups – In2worship, The Charambas and Fishers of Men, and Ephraim son of Africa.
The show runs for 270 minutes with two intervals.

Talking gospel
FATHER Elio Capra is a special guest speaker on The Joy of the Gospel by Pope Francis.

BUNURONG Memorial Park will host a non-denominational twilight Father’s Day service.

Personal journey
EXHIBITION Personal Journey features work from artists Elina Simbolon and Sylvia Riley-king.

Drumming display
DRUMMING ensemble TaikOz will present new work Crimson Sky, featuring thunderous energy and ethereal sounds.
The group weaves drumming with the shakuhachi and shinobue bamboo flutes, voice and a rare performance on the bass koto – a traditional Japanese 17-stringed plucked instrument.

Making a racquet
KEYSBOROUGH Tennis Club will officially open its refurbished courts with an open day.

MARINA Prior is regarded as Australia’s leading lady of the theatre stage.

Game On
THE Game On Basketball Program is for 12 to 25-year-olds who enjoy basketball and breakdancing.
