FOOTBALL FEDERATION VICTORIA – NPL

DANDENONG Thunder destroyed Goulburn Valley Suns in a 6-3 triumph at George Andrews Reserve in its penultimate round to the season (Round 25).
With young Thunder dynamos Keiran Dover and Matt Millar slotting five goals between them, the Suns’ defence was under siege all night.
A 5-0 lead at half-time could have spelled complete annihilation for the Suns, but to their credit the visitors fought back to net three goals of their own by the final whistle.
The icing on the cake came from Kris Kioussis, netting his goal in the 90th minute to knock off the Suns by three goals.
Dandenong Thunder sits 11th and will finish its inaugural NPL season against Heidelberg United on Sunday afternoon from 3pm.
In NPL1 results an absolute goal-fest was snared by Dandenong City in a 7-4 win over Whittlesea Ranges.
Dario Matkovic rocketed up the goal-scoring table with a hat-trick while Damien Miskulin scored two on top of the opener from Shaun Filipovic and an own goal from Whittlesea. Dandenong City has moved up to eighth on the ladder and host Moreland Zebras on Saturday.
Springvale White Eagles wasn’t as lucky as they fell 2-3 to Sunshine George Cross on Saturday. After an early George Cross goal, White Eagles equalised approaching half-time through Slaven Vranesevic to level the ledger at the main break. Vranesevic added to his tally upon resumption but from there two George Cross goals pushed the home side out to an insurmountable lead.
White Eagles sit 11th and host ladder leading Avondale Heights on Saturday.
