A WOULD-be robber armed with a Stanley knife has been thwarted and chased out of two milk bars in quick succession.
Detective Senior Constable Adam Dixon of Greater Dandenong CIU said in his first attempt the man produced the knife and demanded cash from a 47-year-old female shop-owner in a milk bar at Beauvorno Avenue, Keysborough, on 4 August about 12.50pm.
The shop-owner armed herself with a metal pole and chased the man out of the shop.
He escaped westward on Beauvorno Avenue in a silver-coloured car with another occupant.
Minutes later, the man tried the same routine in a milk bar in Yarraman Road, Noble Park.
He was chased out by a 48-year-old male shop attendant wielding a hockey stick.
The would-be robber was described as Caucasian, 185 centimetres, skinny and wearing a black hoody.
