Centre gets set for convenience

A CONVENIENCE store could open its doors in the Dandenong Civic Centre by December.
Last Monday night City of Greater Dandenong councillors agreed to put plans to lease a space in 225 Lonsdale Street to public consultation.
The applicant, Ali Rahimi, wants to open a convenience store with souvenirs and an ATM if the lease proposal gets final approval.
The lease would start on 1 December and run for five years with an option of an additional five years.
There are eight retail spaces available for lease in the municipal building, and four are currently leased.
The council said Mr Rahimi’s proposal met the selection criteria for prospective tenants in that the lease would contribute to activating the space, that Mr Rahimi had business experience and acumen, and because of the length of the lease and rental rate.
