A DANDENONG business has raised $16,000 to tackle family violence.
Prestige Hino presented the donation to Windermere Child and Family Services last Tuesday, 18 November.
The cash came from its annual charity golf day at Sandhurst Golf Club on 17 October.
Prestige Hino dealer principal Anthony Long said the truck sales company had a long-standing relationship with Windermere.
“I am a great admirer and in awe of the work they do in our community,” he said.
“Each year the golf day grows and it is very pleasing to see our local suppliers embracing their community and helping those who need it most.”
Windermere CEO Dr Lynette Buoy said the money would help to deliver family violence and other early intervention and prevention program initiatives.
“Each year Windermere continues to advance its vision of a stronger, connected and more supported community,” she said.
“We believe that everyone is someone in our community and through our programs and support from local businesses like Prestige Hino we have seen many lives change for the better.”
For more than 150 years Windermere has provided help and resources for people to live to their full potential and create strong, connected communities.
It provides counselling, advice, education and advocacy for people who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse, neglect, lack of housing or other deprivations.
