The ‘missing’ bypass

By CASEY NEILL

THE Dandenong Bypass is missing from online maps and holding back Keysborough South.
That’s according to Keysborough South Action Group, which called on people to report the issue to Google Maps and Melways.
The volunteer group run by local residents is running a petition calling for a new bus route to service Keysborough South and a vocal campaign for a new primary school for the growing suburb.
“The bypass is the key to both the bus and the school campaign,” the group said on its Facebook page.
“The problem is that on both online Google maps (Earth arterial view) and street directory (Melways) it is still shown as under construction even though it was opened in December 2012.
“Someone viewing either of these maps online may think it’s not an issue for the community.”
