A FIRE that broke out at the Dandenong Drug Court house on Monday morning is being treated as suspicious by the Dandenong CFA.
CFA crews were called to the courthouse on the corner of Foster and Langhorne streets, about 5.50am, and brought the flames under control within 20 minutes.
However the 20×30 metre single-storey building was significantly damaged.
Dandenong station officer Sam Webb said firefighters began an external attack of the fire, which had spread through the roof space.
“The fire had travelled quite aggressively within the building,” Mr Webb said.
Langhorne Street and surrounding roads have been closed and people are advised to avoid the area due to large amounts of smoke.
No-one was inside the building at the time and eight crews attended the blaze from Dandenong, Frankston, Hallam and Rowville.
