A driver allegedly travelling 60 kilometres per hour over the speed limit while drunk in Bangholme had his Holden Commodore impounded.
The State Highway Patrol members allegedly clocked his car travelling at 142km in an 80km zone on Thompson Road about 2.20pm on Thursday 7 July.
They breath tested the 38-year-old Boronia man and alleged he returned a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.111 per cent.
The officers immediately impounded the vehicle and expect to charge the driver on summons with drink-driving and speeding-related offences.
