Would-be thieves ambushed a woman as she reversed from her Dandenong driveway.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Kimberley Alp said the incident occurred in King George Parade about 8.20am on Friday 14 July.
The victim, 46, was reversing when three youths approached and started yelling at her.
One moved to the front of her car and stopped her from driving off while a second moved to her passenger door, pulled it open and told her to get out of her car.
Det Sen Const Alp said the woman was able to drive away. She was not injured.
She described the trio as teenagers, two possibly of Indian appearance and one with dark skin, possibly Sudanese.
