Dandenong’s Harmony Square will preview a long lunch and highlight local foodies this month.
On Friday 16 February it will host suppliers for a Regional World’s Longest Lunch to be held in North-East Victorian town Acheron during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
From 11.30am to 2.30pm there’ll be stalls showcasing food businesses from Murrindindi Shire and City of Greater Dandenong, including Bangholme’s Craft and Co, Dandenong South’s Kaiju Beer, From Granny and Moondarra Cheese, and Uncles Smallgoods in Dandenong.
Visitors will be able to sample or buy food and beverages and speak directly to the makers.
The City of Greater Dandenong will co-host the Regional World’s Longest Lunch on Friday 16 March with Little River Winery and artist and cook Marian Rennie.
The four-course lunch promises to meld local in-season produce with flavours from Dandenong’s diverse, multi-cultural food heartland.
On the menu will be products from the showcase exhibitors plus Dandenong’s Punjab Sweets, Rob’s British and Irish Butcher, and A1 Bakery.
Products from Tease Tea in Keysborough, Kez’s Kitchen in Noble Park North and Cobs Popcorn in Dandenong South will feature in show bags handed out after the lunch.
