Dandenong drivers found Stud Road strewn with medical waste during their morning commute.

A motorist called the Journal to highlight the trash situation early on Thursday 21 June.

He said it appeared a garbage truck dropped a bag of surgical waste on Stud Road overnight, near Herbert Street.

He said cars had since hit the bag and dragged rubbish for about 300 metres.

The driver spotted surgical gloves among the debris.

The Journal reached out to Greater Dandenong Council for comment.

A spokeswoman said a council staff member noticed the mess and logged it into the council request system in the morning, and the council had since removed the rubbish.

She said the council did not know where the rubbish came from, it would be difficult to work out and she was not aware of any follow-up.
