Man critical after road-rage attack

Police are appealing to anyone with information of this car.

A 34-year-old man has been critically injured after being deliberately run down by an SUV driver in a road-rage hit-run in Glasscocks Road, Lyndhurst, police say.

It started with an argument between the SUV driver and two occupants of a VW Golf on Dandenong-Frankston Road, Carrum Downs on Friday 1 December shortly before 6pm.

The victim pulled over on Glasscocks Road to enquire what the other driver’s issue was, Greater Dandenong CIU police say.

The SUV driver is believed to have not slowed down but swerved deliberately to strike the victim.

He suffered multiple broken bones and was hospitalised in a critical condition. His condition has stabilised, police say.

Police have released CCTV of an SUV believed to have been a black 2001-2006 Ford Territory.

The male driver was described as Islander appearance, solid build and wearing a straw hat.

He had up to four children in the back of the Territory at the time.

A facial composite image of a man that police wish to speak to has also been released.
