Sleeping occupants’ home torched

Residents have awoken to a deliberate fire started on their home’s front porch in Keysborough on Sunday 17 February.

The occupants as well as their neighbours were awoken by the Henderson Road building’s blaring smoke alarms about 1.30am.

They discovered a fire that had started to spread to the roofline at the front of their home.

Police say that an accelerant had been poured on the porch and a box with a large number of shoes prior to the fire.

Springvale CFA fire-fighters contained the blaze to the front of the home.

Any information, including CCTV footage, to Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487 and Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au.
