Campaign to support devastated family

The family of an Endeavour Hills woman who lost her life when the car they were in was crushed by a falling tree in early August face a long road to recovery.

Angie Suryadi, 41, who was a front passenger, tragically died at the scene at Maroondah Highway on Friday 9 August when a tree fell on their moving vehicle on the Black Spur.

Her husband Arnold and son Oliver were critically injured in the accident.

Arnold is now in a rehabilitation facility learning how to walk again, after having six surgeries.

Four-year-old Oliver suffered serious head injuries and has been transitioned from intensive care to the neurology unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Given the extent of bleeding on Oliver’s brain, there is a chance he will never fully recover.

Six-year-old Jonathan was uninjured in the crash but needs extensive physiological therapy after witnessing the incident.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist with Arnold, Oliver and Jonathan’s recovery with over $5,000 raised in 24 hours.

Anyone who wishes to donate to support the family can do so at www.gofundme.com/f/suryadiaditiasvara-family-tragedy.
