Dumping costs Dandenong South drum maker

A Dandenong South metal and plastic drum manufacturer has been fined $95,000 for dumping industrial waste, not obeying a clean-up notice and other licence breaches. 

Dandenong Magistrates Court found Drum Brokers Australia guilty on eight charges for its inadequate storage of 90 tonnes of waste such as hydrofluoric acid at its site and the neighbouring premises. Drums containing prescribed industrial waste had also been illegally dumped. Drum Brokers was also ordered to pay more than $14,500 in costs.
