Preliminary works to eliminate Springvale’s level crossing are set to begin after Public Transport and Roads Minister Terry Mulder announced last week that Coleman Rail was awarded an initial $8.8 million design and construct contract. South-eastern metropolitan MP Inga Peulich said the project would ease traffic and improve safety on one of the south-east’s busiest roads.
