Bus in the pink

DANDENONG’S favourite bus company has jumped on board the Melbourne Breast Cancer Bra Walk for the third year.
Grenda has put its eye-catching pink bus back on the streets during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it will also act as a shuttle during the walk this weekend.
Grenda General Manager Peter Ayres said the company recognised the impact cancer had on lives and wanted to support the cause.
“Breast cancer affects a lot of people across Melbourne, including friends, acquaintances and employees,” Mr Ayres said.
“We (Grenda) are more than happy to support the walk.”
This year, the bus has been redesigned, with the signage installed by Sign-A-Rama Dandenong and custom-made pink seat covers to continue the theme inside the bus.
“It is a different layout from the original one, which gives it a fresh look,” Ms Ayres said.
”It has been making an impact all over town – a bright pink bus does make an impact.”
The Pink Bus has extremely popular with charter bookings during October, with 10 per cent of the proceeds donated directly to Breast Cancer Network Australia.
The Melbourne Breast Cancer Bra Walk will take place from 9.30am on Sunday 30 October at Federation Square.
All money raised is donated to Breast Cancer Network Australia.
