Raid nets $1m drugs

GREATER Dandenong police seized more than $1 million worth of cannabis in raids on four homes last week.
Dandenong Tasking Unit members and other officers executed a warrant relating to a hydroponic cannabis set-up at an address in Kent Court, Keysborough, about 4.30pm on 23 July.
They found four rooms set up to grow the drug, arrested an 18-year-old man and charged him with cultivating cannabis and other drug-related offences.
A second man, aged 23 from Truganina, arrived while police were at the scene.
He’s also charged with cultivating cannabis and other drug-related offences.
From the initial search, police obtained and executed three warrants the following day at homes in Noble Park, Clayton and Clayton South.
There they found more cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Jodie Stoll said police seized 728 plants across the four properties, with a street value of more than $1 million.
The two men did not apply for bail at an appearance in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 29 July.
They are due to appear at a committal mention hearing in the court on 22 October.
