Armed robbers strike in Dandenong CBD during rush hour

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

A MAN was threatened with a knife during  a peak-hour robbery in  the centre of Dandenong’s busy CBD   yesterday morning.

Police say the 45 year old, of Carrum Downs, was approached on Lonsdale by four men of African appearance near Webster Street bridge about 8.30am.

One member of the gang, described as 190 centimetres tall and wearing a silver suit jacket, produced a knife and demanded cash, while another attacker, who was bare-torsoed, took the victim’s wallet.

The victim was then kicked in the back.

The other two assailants involved in the armed robbery were wearing dark T-shirts.
