POLICE have released an image of a knife-wielding thief who robbed a 19-year-old in central Dandenong this month.
Police said the victim, a Dandenong man, was walking north along Cleeland Street about 6am on 3 February when he saw a man pass by on the opposite side of the road.
The man doubled back and approached the victim from behind, produced a large knife, demanded his wallet and fled east on Olive Street with it.
The thief is believed to be aged in his mid-thirties and Caucasian with short brown hair and rotten and missing teeth. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans during the robbery.
