MURIEL Norris gave more than 40 years of her life to the Noble Park Country Women’s Association.
On Monday 18 May the 95-year-old’s CWA colleagues thanked her with a certificate presentation at a morning tea in Springvale.
Ms Norris still lives in her own home but her age recently forced her to give up her CWA duties.
“She was a very staunch and reliable member,” Yvonne Smith said.
“We’re sorry that she can no long come along.
“She’s been with us for 40 years. She started off at Cranbourne CWA and when she moved down here she transferred to us.
“She’s been a great member all those years.”
Ms Smith said Ms Norris was an excellent cook and also liked knitting.
“She was a Blackmore and her family had big farms around the area in Noble Park for years,” she said.
“She was a historian for Dandenong.”
Phone Ms Smith on 9547 7261 to get involved with the Noble Park CWA.
