A Noble Park school has won an Australian film prize.
St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School’s short film Amazing Mums won it the Junior Live Action category in the Screen It competition.
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) runs the annual competition, Australia’s largest moving image competition for school-aged filmmakers, animators and game makers.
It announced the winners on Thursday 3 November, judged from a pool of more than 580 entries from across the country.
Winners will receive trophies and prizes at a red carpet awards ceremony at ACMI in Melbourne on Friday 18 November.
Winning entries will be exhibited in the kids’ space in ACMI’s free and permanent exhibition Screen Worlds.
They’ll also appear on the ACMI website alongside all finalists, which included The Mystery of the Missing Bunnies from Wooranna Park Primary School in Dandenong North.
ACMI education manager Christine Evely said Screen It’s core purpose was to celebrate the creativity and imagination of young people and foster skills development.
All entries this year related to the theme ‘mystery’.
