Yassmin guest speaker at Women’s Day

By Casey Neill

Fresh from a stoush with Senator Jacqui Lambie, Yassmin Abdel-Magied will lead International Women’s Day celebrations in Springvale.
She’s the guest speaker for the SEBN and Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce Showcasing Women breakfast on Thursday 9 March.
Yassmin is an Australian-born mechanical engineer, social advocate, writer, petrol head and the Queensland Young Australian of the Year 2015.
She founded Youth Without Borders at age 16, has delivered a number of TED Talks, is now hosting her own ABC television series called Australia Wide, and has completed her first memoir.
Yassmin has also made several appearances on ABC panel discussion television show Q&A.
In her Monday 13 February appearance, she locked horns with Senator Lambie in a heated discussion about sharia law and made headlines across the country.
The Showcasing Women breakfast will run from 7am to 9am on Thursday 9 March at Highways, corner Princes Highway and Corrigan Road, Springvale.
Bookings close on Friday 3 March. Visit www.greaterdandenong.com/sebn.
