Grant to help business grow

KEYSBOROUGH steel manufacturer Calbah Industries has the chance to become more globally competitive thanks to a business grant from the State Government.
Small Business Minister Joe Helper announced $11,050 in Grow Your Business funding at a tour of the niche steel manufacturer as part of the Victorian Government’s Bayside Community Cabinet.
“The firm provides services for many industries including the mining, oil and gas, general engineering, rail, transport, local government and community sectors,” Mr Helper said. “Calbah Industries has grown significantly in recent years and will benefit from professional guidance to help meet customer demands quickly and efficiently.”
The grant will assist Calbah Industries to review its business structure and consider changes needed to grow the business further in Australia and to expand internationally. It will also enable the firm to develop a new business plan that will help the company improve its operations and compete more effectively.
Calbah Industries believe this support will help them leverage their specialised skills, expand into new markets, create new jobs and plan for the next phase of investment in the company,” Mr Helper said.
“They are also hopeful of bringing back to Victoria work that is currently completed overseas, which is great news for Victoria’s highly skilled manufacturing sector.”
