Kobe Bryant immortalised

In a tribute from the heart, artists have emblazoned the image of the late, great Kobe Bryant onto a Dandenong South basketball centre’s wall.

For hours the pair of muralists – who wish to remain anonymous – painted inside HOOPS 24/7 indoor sports centre.

At 4.30am on Saturday 8 February, the spectacular mural was complete. An enduring inspiration for the region’s young basketballers, one of the artist duo told Star Journal.

He was a big fan of Kobe and his ‘mamba’ mentality to “strive for what we want to achieve”, he said.

“If we want to achieve something, don’t go just half-way.

“Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it.”

Meanwhile, the artists have other possible commissions to brighten walls in Greater Dandenong this year.
