Help to prevent retail theft

POLICE are urging the community to dob-in shoplifters and anyone involved in retail theft.
Organised retail theft involves individuals or groups shoplifting large quantities of goods in order to resell them and make money.
It is estimated that it costs Victorianbusinesses tens of millions of dollars every year, with speculation that this figure would be much higher if all incidents were reported.
Goods may be stolen from almost any retail category; including high-end fashion and luxury products, hardware, electrical goods, cosmetics, stationery, grocery items and more.
Police said any information on where stolen goods are being stored, or where they are being sold, whether it is at a home, business or on the Internet, would help investigations
Those with information on organised retail theft can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www. crimestoppers. com.au
