ABOUT 140 Dandenong East jobs hang in the balance, with Waterwheel Industries – part of The Gourmet Group that includes Rosella – going into receivership this week.
The Gladstone Road factory manufactures baked snacking products under the Waterthins, Waterwheel and Roccas brands.
On Monday 3 December receivers Steve Sherman, John Lindholm and Jim Sarantinos announced they were “undertaking an urgent assessment of the Gourmet Group’s financial position” and looking for a buyer for the group.
They told employees their employment would continue on the same terms and conditions pending the review’s completion, but all pre-appointment entitlements were frozen.
