Wind beneath their wings

Krish Rajavel surged to the line in the 400m to earn a state bronze medal for Dandenong Little Athletics Centre.

BRINGING home a couple of medals to cap off summer, Dandenong Little Athletics Centre was led by the girls at the Little Athletics State Track and Field Championships.
Backing up her success at the regionals, Dandenong’s under-9 field star Kyana Gordon finished third in the girls discus – with a best of 18.54m in the championships which were held last week at Casey Fields.
The running events were a lot harder for the athletes at the wind-swept, cold venue on Saturday, but Krish Rajavel proved to be the other Dandenong athlete to star at the meet.
Rajavel crossed the line in 1.04.13 to claim bronze in the under-12 girls 400m run.
Jake Allen, Nicholas Allsop and Brammashan Kajendra were the other athletes from the centre to qualify and participate in the state championships.
Dandenong now gears up for cross country season with the winter-running events starting on 7 May.
