Colour coded for China

DANDENONG’S green and gold will be traded for the Australian Boomers variety in the upcoming weeks, as Venky Jois and Owen Odigie don the Australian colours against China.
Jois – 19 – in his freshman year at East Washington College – has been in phenomenal form in his first season abroad – named the Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year – and has capped it off with selection in his first senior national team.
The Melbourne Tigers NBL-listed Odigie, 20, set to return from a hand injury for the Dandneong Rangers SEABL team soon, has also been selected in the squad in the first outing for new Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis.
The 17-strong squad will be in camp from Sunday 2 June before being reduced to 12 ahead of the Sino-Australia Challenge – a four-game series against China.
The Sino-Australia Challenge tips-off at Perth Arena on Friday 7 June, the first time international basketball will be played at the state-of-art arena.
