LAST hoorahs went to Dandenong Thunder in its catch-up round clash against Richmond when it snarled a 2-0 victory to finish the year on the up.
The Thunder snapped a four-game losing streak with the win to turn around an indifferent month of form.
A back-and-forth first half didn’t give either side an advantage – with both level at the main break.
Nate Foster added another goal to his impressive VPL tally, cutting in the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute after the Canadian striker was afforded too much room by Richmond’s defence and was able to calmly slot his shot past Richmond keeper Aaron Romein.
Following up Foster’s first was captain Shane Rexhepi – slotting the match-winning penalty in the 90th minute after Zac Walker was carelessly fouled in the box by Romein approaching the full-time whistle.
Dandenong finished up its season against Green Gully Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon, with the match culminating after the Dandenong Journal went to print.
Clap for Thunder as it ends losing streak
