THE Chinese Government has boosted Greater Dandenong’s collection of Chinese books.
People’s Republic of China Consul-General Yu Ming Song presented about 200 books to City of Greater Dandenong mayor Jim Memeti at Springvale Library last week.
They cover topics including traditional literature, culture, history, art and science, and some have bilingual content.
Greater Dandenong has about 8500 Chinese speaking residents and more than 2500 are library members.
The municipality’s Chinese book section is one of the library’s most heavily-borrowed collections.
