Wallara makes pop up TV debut

MORE than 80 people watched Wallara make its prime time television debut at a special screening on 30 June.
The support service for adults with disabilities invited people to view the half-hour show broadcast on Channel 31 at 7.30pm at its Pop Up Shop in Dandenong Plaza.
A few years ago, Wallara started creating videos to capture and share the stories of people with a disability and how they lived their lives.
Wallara CEO Phil Hayes-Brown said they shared a few with Channel 31 and were offered the 30-minute spot.
“We want to change the conversation, so we start talking about what people with different abilities can do, not what they can’t,” he said.
“We believe these stories matter, and by sharing them we create greater understanding and a stronger community.”
Its next episode is now in production, and Wallara is looking for sponsors to help fund the prime time slot.
