SMOKE filled the Dandenong government services office foyer last Thursday.
Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation conducted a smoking ceremony and welcome to country for the staff.
The event marked National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week, which from 6 to 13 July celebrated the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
NAIDOC originated to increase awareness in the wider community about the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians.
