Car driven away in daring aggravated burglary

By CASEY NEILL

Thieves broke into a Springvale home while three people slept, and stole their car – after rolling another vehicle out of the way.
Greater Dandenong Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said they forced entry to the Clive Street property just before 5am on Saturday 9 July.
Det Sgt Kirton said they stole car keys, then used a jemmy bar or similar implement to enter the garage.
The burglars tried to steal the grey Honda City sedan parked inside, but realised a second car in the driveway was obstructing their exit.
They forced entry to the second car and rolled it out of the driveway and onto the road, before driving away in the Honda.
A 54-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were asleep inside and woke to their dog barking.
They heard the thieves and saw them driving the Honda north on Clive Street.
Det Sgt Kirton said the vehicle was still outstanding.
He urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
