Police dodge shooting claims

By Casey Neill

Police have reached no conclusions about last month’s fatal shooting in Keysborough.
Media speculation has been rife about the possibility of mistaken identity and bikie involvement in the Church Road incident on Tuesday 2 May.
In response, Homicide Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Julian Horan told the Journal: “It’s an ongoing investigation and we’re exploring all avenues and all potential motives.”
Muhammed Yucel, 22, suffered a gunshot to the chest and died at the scene.
Two other Keysborough men, aged 23 and 22, were shot in the arm and leg respectively and taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Anyone who has information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
