Fake policeman steals car

A fake police officer lured a man out of his car in central Dandenong and stole it.
The victim was sitting in his silver Skyline coupe at Wilson and Pultney streets about 11pm on Tuesday 25 July.
A man opened his passenger door, identified himself as a police officer and asked the victim produce his licence.
The man, wearing a blue hoodie, asked the victim if there were any drugs or weapons in the vehicle and asked him to step out.
A second man then appeared. He was described as 183 centimetres tall and of European background, and was wearing a dark baseball cap, a grey jumper with a black puffer jacket on top and dark cargo pants with white runners.
The first man got into the victim’s car and drove off toward Pultney Street.
The second got into a silver or grey SUV and drove away.
Call Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
