Seven injured in horror crash

A woman is fighting for life and six others have been rushed to hospital after a horror crash in Springvale on Monday morning.

Eight ambulances rushed to the junction of Springvale Road and the Princes Highway at about 5am after reports of a two-car head on collision.

According to Victoria Police, six people, aged between 16 and 20 years old, were travelling in white VW sedan when the crash took place.

The car was only equipped to handle five people.

The sole occupant of the north-bound vehicle, a Parkdale man in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Princes Highway is closed outbound in Springvale due to debris from the collision being sprawled across the road.

A 20-year-old woman who was taken to the Alfred Hospital with injuries to her head, legs and chest – described as being the most wounded from the crash.

Meanwhile, a man was conveyed to the Royal Melbourne with head injuries but is now in a stable condition, while another was taken to Dandenong Hospital with leg injuries.

Inbound traffic on the Princes Highway is still open.
