VCE classes reach zenith

A state-of-the-art VCE centre has been unveiled at Lighthouse Christian College in Keysborough.

The two-storey Zenith Centre was the fulfilment of a 20-year vision for top-notch facilities for the college’s senior secondary students, a college spokesperson said.

It’s a far cry from the “ill-equipped portables” that VCE staff and students endured 20 years ago.

“In the early years of the VCE about eight VCE staff and the VCE co-ordinator had been crammed in what was the Bible College office of the Lighthouse church to use as their VCE staffroom and administrative area.”

“The rudimentary facilities and ill-equipped portables did not deter the class of 1999 from achieving excellent educational outcomes.”

The new centre, opened by Greater Dandenong mayor Roz Blades on 29 April, also marks 30 years of history at Lighthouse Christian College.
