‘Squat house’ fire suspicious

A suspected squat house at 13 Fifth Avenue Dandenong has been significantly damaged in a suspicious fire, police say.

A neighbour spotted flames rising from the single-storey weatherboard dwelling’s roof about 2pm on Monday 21 October.

CFA fire crews were called, and controlled the fire.

The building wasn’t attached to electricity or gas services at the time, police say.
