Nuclear timber tales

Look twice and Kate Caish’s Nuclear Family – a clan of four timber skyscrapers – seems to take an anthropomorphic bent. In her exhibition Chance Encounters at Walker Street Gallery, Caish shows off wooden designs created by busy hands and pieces of scrap timber from around her Warragul home. The sculptures grow out of a sense of fun, she says. The exhibition is on at the gallery, corner of Walker and Robinson streets in Dandenong, until May 26. Picture: Sam Stiglec.
