MORE than 1100 homes and businesses have suffered a major power outage that has affected Clayton and Springvale.
The outages, which started just before noon, are still being investigated by United Energy.
A Monash Medical Centre spokeswoman confirmed the hospital lost power for about 60 seconds before back-up generators kicked in.
The outage stretches from Clayton Road to Westall Road and mostly affects customers on the northern side of Haughton Road.
United Energy spokesman Stuart Allott said: ‘‘We would hope that all customers should be back on supply by 2pm today.’’
