DANDENONG Market welcomed shoppers to its first Sunday trading day with music, clowns, cooking and more.
It’s now open four days a week – Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday – so time-poor customers have convenient access to fresh produce and other bargains.
Dandenong is one of Victoria’s oldest markets, first opening its doors in 1866. Today it offers tastes from around the world.
The Sunday celebrations continue with a visit from Max the Lego Man from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 13 October and Dirt Girl from the ABC television show from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 10 November.
Free market parking is available on Sundays and a free shuttle bus runs from Dandenong Railway Station to the market and back again.
Dandenong Market is on the corner of Clow and Cleeland streets and is open 10am to 3pm Sundays.
Visit www.dandenongmarket.com.au for more information. Dandenong Journal photographer JARROD POTTER found the food, fun and flair of the market on Sunday 6 October as people piled in to pick up their favourite items from the sprawling mega-market.
