Bridal store at top table

By CASEY NEILL

DANDENONG stalwart Maggie’s Bridal Centre has been named among Victoria’s top wedding designers.
It came third in the Bridal Gown Boutique category in the Victorian Annual Bridal Industry Awards (ABIA) earlier this month – awards voted for by more than 6000 past brides.
They evaluated suppliers based on the quality of their product and service, value for money and staff attitude.
ABIA chairman John O’ Meara said businesses like Maggie’s Bridal complemented and elevated the wedding industry with attention to detail, pride, passion and professionalism.
The Walker Street store is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been family-owned since it opened its doors in 1988.
Co-owner Jodie Elliott said the store’s large stock range, size and enduring presence were the reasons behind its success.
“I think people just trust us,” she said.
“It’s a great achievement for the shop because it’s not judged by a panel.
“It’s a real, true test of how well the shop’s doing and what the customers think of us.
“We do everything we possibly can for our customers.”
Ms Elliott enjoys going on a journey with the brides and said they often returned with thanks, photos and stories – and even the occasional invite to their big day.
“This year’s been fantastic for us. Business is continually growing,” she said.
“The name is as strong as ever, if not stronger.
“Maggie’s will around for at least another 25 years.”
