Former Dandenong District Cricket Association executive member and recorder Reg Pickering died last week of a heart attack.
Pickering, 60, was a 28-year member of Endeavour Hills Cricket Club and remained on the club committee.
The DDCA and other cricketing groups in the district have expressed sadness at his death.
