Mugging charges

By CAM LUCADOU-WELLS

A GROUP of 16-year-old youths has been charged after allegedly mugging a man who had been walking along Princes Highway, Noble Park.
The 18-year-old Noble Park man was allegedly assaulted by the four boys, who stole his mobile phone about 1.30am on 4 July.
Police said the youths, who were found in a stolen Lexus sedan about 10pm the same day, were charged with robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.
Two were remanded to appear in Melbourne Childrens’ Court last week while the other pair were bailed to appear on 19 September.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old Springvale man had been robbed by a carload of teenagers.
The victim had been walking along Sandown Road about 5.30am on 3 July when five males had got out of a white five-door vehicle, assaulted him and stole his wallet and mobile phone.
