Armed robbery: multiple charges laid

By CASEY NEILL

TWO men are in custody following an armed robbery at a Dandenong adult entertainment store on Saturday night.
Andrew Maharaj, 33, from Dandenong, and Krisneil Chand, 20, from Mentone faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Sunday) charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment, assault with a weapon and threats to kill.
They were remanded in custody to face a filing hearing in the court on 28 August.
Police allege the men targeted a Cheltenham Road store about 10.25pm, taking cash and a mobile phone before fleeing on foot, and that bystanders unsuccessfully tried to stop the men outside the store.
Dog Squad members attended the scene to help local police and arrested two men in Cambria Street shortly after the incident.
