Model parkland welcomes all

Designing an inclusive park isn’t exactly child’s play.

But Years 3 and 4 students at Holy Family Primary School in Doveton put on their design hats and built a 3D model of an inclusive playspace.

They had studied and explored shopping precincts, a library and play parks, as well as features such as Braille signage and tactile paving.

A visit to Livvi’s Place accessible playground in Lyndhurst was also instructive.

Then over term 4, the spectacular parkland model was built.

“We believe all children have the right to play and have fun which was at the forefront of our design,” a school spokesperson said.
