ST GEORGE Foundation last week donated $12,000 to a local charity to celebrate the opening of a new St George bank branch at Parkmore Shopping Centre, Keysborough. The money, given to SouthCare Community Care Facility last Friday, will go towards developing a mentoring program for troubled and vulnerable youth in the region.
The foundation has been helping charities for 20 years and has given more than $15 million in grants to improve the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children.
Branch manager Sultan Kandemir said the opening of the Keysborough branch was about meeting the needs of new and existing customers and growing our presence in the area.
St George staff, Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti, local MPs, the bank’s mascot, Happy Dragon, and many residents attended the event.
