NOMINATIONS are now being taken for the 2010 Greater Dandenong Australia Day Awards.
The awards recognise the exceptional contribution, hard work and determination of citizens who make a positive difference to their local community.
Mayor Pinar Yesil said it was amazing to see how the dedication and passion of one individual could inspire an entire community.
“The Greater Dandenong Australia Day Awards form part of the council’s Australia Day festivities,” she said.
“They provide a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the often unsung contributions members of our community make.”
Cr Yesil said residents had until 5pm on Thursday 12 November to nominate for the awards.
Nomination forms are available by phoning 9239 5134 or from the council’s website at www.greaterdandenong.com
