On the road back to work

UNEMPLOYED people will be helped on their path back to work at the Keep Australia Working Jobs Expo.
The event will be held at Springvale City Hall on 12 August from 10am to 3pm.
Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Simon Crean said hundreds of jobs will be on offer from local businesses, apprenticeship organisations and government agencies.
Jason Clare, Parliamentary Secretary for Employment, said: “Unemployment in Greater Dandenong is 10.8 per cent more than double the national average.
“That’s why this jobs expo is so important.
“The jobs expo we held in Dandenong in April was one of the biggest in the country, and helped 800 local people find work.”
Local businesses are encouraged to exhibit at the event.
Isaacs MP Mark Dreyfus welcomed the event.
“Exhibiting is free and we’re expecting thousands of people to visit the jobs expo on the day.
“The Jobs Expo will give locals a chance to find new skills or update existing skills to help them find the right job.”
Businesses interested in exhibiting at the event should contact Centrelink on 9241 0767.
